What is a Bill of Lading?

A Bill of Lading (or BOL, for short) is a document specifically listing the items a carrier is transporting. It is either on paper, or electronic. You will sign the vehicle over to the driver for the time of transit, and he will sign it back to you at the delivery point. When a driver has a car-hauler full of vehicles, the BOL serves as his load manifest, should he need to account to the authorities as to why he has other peoples' cars in his possession.
